Why, hello there!

Here I am. Another person starting another blog about the crafty business I get into. I love reading other peoples' blogs and I'm always thinking, "I wish I had a place to come to and see the things I have done, how I've progressed, how I felt about certain projects midway and at the end.." etc. So this is it.

Conveniently, JoAnn's had a sale this weekend with $1 Simplicity patterns and I stocked up. I may have gone a little overboard, but the savings! Oh, the savings! I basically bought every pattern I even had the slightest inkling I might want to make, they were only a dollar after all, right? So, 22 new patterns later (yikes) I have a lot of fun stuff to look forward to!

I've started my first project tonight and I am excited about it. Here's the tale: The WONDERFUL husband recently bought me a cute pair of wedge sandals and I've been needing something to wear with them. Also, the ever amazing duo Brendan and Demi ( http://sewdemi.wordpress.com/ ) have gotten engaged, and as such, an engagement party is in the works and it will be the perfect opportunity to wear said sandals and a new dress! So I have started just that, a cute new dress that will be lovely for a summer engagement party and will allow me to finally have something cute to go with these adorable new shoes.

I'm making Simplicity, Cynthia Rowley 2178 in view A (the dress on the model) in a green linen. Fabric is washed, pattern pieces are cut and I've started to cut pieces out of the actual fabric but at this point it is far too warm, and late, for me to continue. My hope is that I can bust this dress out on Tuesday since I have the day off! And the quicker I get it done the faster I can move onto another dress (and I found some super SUPER cute fabric today for it. It's a little ridiculous how much I'm in love with the fabric).

Yeesh, that was a long first entry. G'night.
